Full Management Service

Some of our clients walk in their woods every day, and others visit once every few years. In either case, we will take care of everything that is necessary to keep the wood growing and improving. The range of things we do is almost endless, but the core activities are:

  • Preparing plans and grant schemes and obtaining all necessary permissions (and there are probably more of these required than you think!)
  • Planting new woodland and regenerating existing stands, plus all the maintenance required for established woodland to retain or enhance it's value in amenity, sporting or investment terms
  • Marking, measuring and professionally marketing timber parcels, and supervising harvesting operations once they get under way
  • Designing new woodland and a felling strategy for maturing plantations to enhance the landscape and improve amenity appeal
  • Managing public access, including tree safety inspections, planning of routes and liasion with local people
  • Assessing ecological interest and planning management activities to protect and improve wildlife habitats
  • Preparation of annual programmes and control of income and expenditure budgets.

In these circumstances we act as independent managers, engaging and supervising third party contractors to implement all the necessary operations. We also sell all timber on the open market and have no long term contracts or quotas with mills to fulfill. This means we can always ensure our client's best interests and provide fully impartial advice.
