Philip is a graduate of Aberdeen University (1968) and a Fellow if the Institute of Chartered Foresters (1988). He joined Pryor & Rickett Silviculture in September 2001 as a Director and Company Secretary, following a period as an independant consultant. He has 32 years experience as a forestry practitioner in England and Wales and brings Pryor & Rickett a specialism in Expert Witness work. He is a former member of the Forestry Commission's Reference Panel for Wales and a recent judge for the Duke of Cornwall's Award for Forestry and Conservation, organised by the Royal Forestry Society. He manages a number of woodland estates both large and small throughout Wales and Southern England.

"Despite the changes in personnel, the original premise upon which the firm was founded still stands: that sound silviculture is at the core of all successful woodland management, whether you are looking to produce good quality timber, cover for pheasants or sustainability in environmental terms".
